“Mritt, wrow, sssvitt, phitt... all just barely audible.”
LOL! Our new kitties are a little strange, and they have funny little voices too.
I’ve had some success with calling them by doing a very bad imitation of their very strange meows. I can’t believe I fool them, but it seems I do.
Cats have around 100 vocalizations they make that we can hear. Dogs have around 10, that we can hear and since a dog’s hearing goes past ours in the frequency department, they migh be talking to each other in that audible range we can’t hear for all we know.
Kitteh number one, we just found that was crying so we took it inside, hisses, does that mean mearowwww sound when you pick it up and then, once it’s in your lap sits there and expects some loving. It’s an awesome and intelligent cat that isn’t a feral so we put up signs all over for her. No response. Anyone who had this kitteh must be missing her or they were heartless btards and dumped her because we’re up her in the hills.
Kitteh number two will sit next to you purring so you pet him. He stays purring even after he’s tired of being petted, then he goes nuts and tries to bight and kick you
ALL the while he’s purring along. Strange kitteh.
