I doubt if it is a true story but it makes the point
If she was in China the doctor and the woman wouldn’t have a choice. The State would make the decision.
Soon coming to the US.
I heard another story once, (attributed to Ronald Reagan, but I don’t know that for sure,) but anyway, there was a wealthy man and his young, pregnant wife. The man made out his will and left half his fortune to the wife and half to the unborn child. The man died, and the woman had an abortion so that she would not have to share the fortune with her child. Most people hear that and think, “How horrible, how dreadful, what an evil, selfish woman.” Yet women have abortions all the time because of convenience—because they’re “not ready to have a child,” it will interfere with their careers, whatever. Feminists are always saying that it doesn’t matter the reason; abortion should be available on demand, and it’s between the woman and the abortionist and no one has a right to question her reasons. The idea of a woman killing her child for a fortune, though, that seems to bring home the point of how wrong it truly is.
