I bought a CD of Reagan’s speeches on e-bay for about $12 IIRC. I’m sure you can still get one, and I highly recommend it...best money I ever spent. A lot of his great one-liners are on it, including “tear down this wall”.
Despite their differences, RR always had a very good relationship with the press. Also noteworthy how often he met with them and answered their questions as best he could. Dickweed-in-Chief we have now doesn’t do that, unless the questions are scripted of course.
He always opened the presser by saying “Before I take your questions, I have some opening remarks “. One time he says “Before I refuse to take your questions...”. A genuinely good-natured man, he always made the press laugh. Also, it’s amazing how often he mentions God and prayer. Try to imagine that today.
The speech CD is well worth the money...it proves that Ronnie was indeed a special man and great leader.
