peroration \per-uh-REY-shuhn\ , noun
1. A long speech characterized by lofty and often pompous language.
2. Rhetoric. The concluding part of a speech or discourse, in which the speaker or writer recapitulates the principal points and urges them with greater earnestness and force.
Example sentences:
Thus he apostrophised his house and race in terms of the most moving eloquence; but when it came to the peroration—and what is eloquence that lacks a peroration?—he fumbled. Etymology:
Peroration comes from the Latin word perōrātiōn which meant "a closing speech."

Well, at least we now know he isn’t a Romney-Birther
Cloudy and drizzling intermittently-a friend and neighbor of mine is coming by in an hour to go fossil hunting with me in the part of the la-de-da gated neighborhood at the end of the road where they have dug up a bunch of rock while building a little unpaved road to the clubhouse.
The last time a road was made over there, I went hiking around with a little garden spade and a cloth grocery bag and found a fossilized shell 7 inches across and a couple of inches deep. I scraped all the dirt and loose lime out of it, cleaned it up nice and now it is an ashtray. The aforementioned friend found a piece of limestone with the imprint of a big centipede-looking thing in it among the same unearthed stone rubble while doing an estimate for a septic system. Maybe we can find some more interesting stuff in these unearthed stones...
Every speech that Obama gives
Is peroration and nothing more-
He isn’t amusing or witty-
Just a conceited, asinine bore
