However, if Bruce Springsteen was a rock-solid conservative who supported Ronald Reagan, we would all be raving about the genius of his music (which is actually quite good).

I've never liked Springsteen. His music was more or less bubble gum in an age when some of the greatest rock and roll bands existed, and from people who actually knew how to play their instruments.

The only thing he has going for him is that he is decent songwriter. Other than that, he can't sing outside of his own genre, he certainly can't play his guitar, and he is absolutely nothing without a band behind him.

I've long thought Springsteen was the most overrated guy in rock and roll. It's not that he's bad, I'm just at a loss to see how he's so fantastically great. I don't get that at all.
