Seriously, I wonder if it ACTUALLY makes an attempt to perform was it claims to, or is it just a randomizer?

It’s PLAUSIBLE that perhaps an audio analyzer, color analyzer, and some kind of image recognition algorithm could be applied, although what goes on in a human’s gaydar would be very challenging for even IBM’s computer to even begin to emulate.

I very much doubt that. A device that can do this would have to be an AI with IQ of 6,000.

Seriously, though, even humans - who are probably the best classifiers of other humans - have trouble identifying who is who and when. There are too many factors involved, and a simple still photo will not do much. The behavior of the suspect is far more telling. One day I saw a worker at a fast food place who was talking in medium-high pitch and wearing a rainbow armband. I still have no idea if that creature was originally a man, a woman, or something else. I never saw it there again - perhaps more than one customer was aghast at such behavior and they made it known.
