INDIANAPOLIS -- It appears that the future of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning is tenuous at best after a public spat between him and team owner Jim Irsay.

While Manning's neck injury is keeping him sidelined indefinitely, a war of words that has erupted in recent days could signal that he won't be back with the Colts, regardless of his health situation.

Two days after Manning complained about a dour atmosphere around the Colts' complex, Irsay called his four-time league MVP a "politician" and said he didn't appreciate Manning's public campaign.

The comments upstaged the introduction of Irsay's new coach, Chuck Pagano, and came six weeks before Irsay must decide whether to pay the still-recovering Manning a $28 million bonus.

No, they would need to improve their receivers.

Peyton Manning took Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie to a Super Bowl.

He would make Michael Crabtree a star.
