Giants and Patriots fans aren't yet in full-blown draft focus mode, but it seems like everyone else is. As Senior Bowl week in Mobile comes to a close, here's the first of our seven attempts to mock out how the April 27 first round will unfold at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. Don't go trying to hold me to this version, NFL fans. If I got it all right in late January, I could only go downhill from there over the course of the coming three months, and where's the fun in that?

Seattle Seahawks
Melvin Ingram, DE, South Carolina

So long as we get Flynn from Green Bay at QB, I can live with not taking a QB at 12.

My guess is Weeden will go before Griffin even if he is older than most of the NFL veterans. Also think Blackmon will go a little later than 5.

I’ll take that bet. Cam Newton - physical and accurate - guarantees that players like RGIII get drafted early. Contrast them with a load like Jamarcus Russell. And you also have to take the Chris weinke factor intO account as well when it comes to older QBs. Some could be getting a bargain later in, But in no way is he going before RGIII.

Does it ever make sense to draft a running back in the first round? I know some highly drafted running backs have gone to Canton or will—Ladamian Tomlinson, Barry Sanders, etc., but you get a lot of guys who get hurt too, like Ki-jana Carter.

If you are one running back away from a Super Bowl, go for it, but otherwise it would seem to make more sense to select players who will be around a while. Lots of Super Bowls have been won by teams with featured backs who were picked up in the lower rounds.
