Newt Rips Media For Bias & Bigotry Against the Church (One of his finest debate moments)

This video is from a previous ABC Yahoo sponsored GOP debate.

I believe this moment was what made conservatives take notice of Newt.

Whoever is the presidential candidate ought to take note of Newt's rhetorical skills and use this as a weapon in his debate against Obama (hope it will be Newt himself. Nobody can do it better).

HHS Secretary Katherine Sebelius is even now FORCING the Catholic Church to comply with HHS rules that would REQUIRE Catholic Hospitals and Healthcare services to provide sterilization and contraception services to people who request them. What's next? Abortion?

CLICK on this link to watch the video of a magnificent Newt Gingrich . This for me, was one of his FINEST moments.

HHS requires coverage of the morning-after pill, which is an abortificient, not a contraceptive. So "what's next" has already happened.

Agreed. Many people have mentioned media anti-Republican bias, but very few GOP politicians have done so, and none that I can remember have mentioned anti-Christian bigotry, and it’s about time somebody does. The left feels no compunction screaming racism when there is none, and our side is ridiculously timid calling bigotry where there is tons of evidence. If this phenomena becomes more prevalent, we might yet turn the cultural tide.

what would happen if they refused to comply? Would they lose federal money or would they actually try to put them in jail?

Does anybody know.

RE: Would they lose federal money or would they actually try to put them in jail?

________________________________

They would lose federal money.

Putting them in jail would be a PR disaster no politician I know would want to be involved in.

But the larger question is this -— What rule in the universe tells us that you must take Federal Money in order for you to do charitable work?

We were able to do it in the past... who says it can’t be done today?

Take my daughter’s college for instance — Grove City College. That school has been in existence for 130 years. It did not have any problems accepting Federal money until the 1970’s when the Feds started to poke into how “equal” their sports program is for men and women. The Fed also started to question the low number of blacks who make it to the college. Grove City College just WITHDREW from any Federal support and REFUSED any students who use Federal money to pay for their tuition.

The result — the school is still thriving today and is ranked as one of the best value for money colleges in the country by Princeton Review ( it is also ranked among the top conservative colleges in the USA ).

Hillsdale College is the same.

So, if these college can thrive without Federal money, why should the Catholic Charities and Hospitals get involved with the Federal government?

People who are good Catholics will give and help and if
Catholics don’t, there is something wrong with their profession of faith.
