So apparently Americans think Obama is singlehandedly dropping unemployment and that he is rescuing our economy, just like they thought FDR rescued the economy in the early 1940s. How can conservatives convince them that it was the strength and resilience of private enterprise that led to any improvements we see ?

No matter how they spin it, on the ground we are still seeing rises in the cost of food and energy. We may continue this game of one step forward and two back. But we will not see long term improvements when people are making less, spending more on necessities, and continue with long term unemployment.
The issues that caused these problems have not been addressed. People in general are not seeing an improvement in their incomes or buying power.
