Nancy Pelosi says that she is a “devout” Catholic too. Many disagree.
It is by no means a blessing on his various discretions to note that the Church has weighed the merits of his previous unions and found them lacking.
i hear you and felt that way until i got the Ipad and the Kindle app has made downloading books possible. i would not have ever gotten a kindle to just read books, but the multiplicity of function with an ipad is just fantastic. I can go from Words with Friends with Explorer89, to email, to FR, to twitter, to the book i am reading— all with one touch. And the immediate gratification of finishing one book and being able to immediately start another, is something i am loving too. Yes amazon will bring it next day, but amazon kindle books can be there in a NY minute. Also, i paid $57 for the Hunger Games Trilogy for my daughters to be able to read them in paper form, at B&N. i downloaded the trilogy to my ipad for $17.
Xxteen is firmly in the paper books, i want to hold them in my hand, camp. i think until you’ve experienced an ebook, that’s an understandable feeling. i had it myself.
That’s packy ... in Southie.
Apples and oranges. Newt was married in the Church. This isn’t his opinion of himself. It’s an objective fact.
Didn’t say it was. Facts are facts, and morality is morality.
Nancy’s very platform of abortion and such shows that she is NOT a practicing Catholic. Even her meeting with the Pope left all of us wondering.
As for Newt, he has stated that he has had a conversion. If my church, as I am a practicing Catholic, says he is in a valid marriage, I accept that. I have no desire to snoop into the annulment process or ask anything more. Should another bimbo come along and be able to PROVE a current affair, I may reconsider.
Newt was married in the church, fine. i think what afraidfortherepublic and i are talking about is the objective reality of his behavior and the likelihood that it will be accepted/excused by the voting populace.
I notice that you are typing i instead of I. Is that because you are using an Ipad?
Before I get into nooks and kindles and Ipads, I need someone to guide me through. Actually, we have a restaurant in the movie theatre where we often go. They LOAN Ipads to their patrons to play games. I’ve tried it with Angry Birds and I just can’t get into it. I just don’t feel right about sitting there playing a game while my 3 companions are talking. It feels rude. LOL (Even though all the kids are doing it.)
It sucks to be carrying a big book around once you’ve finished it. Especially in a backpack in an airport.
It’s just about sex. If Clinton can be a charming rogue, we can have one too. We need to make the campaign about issues, not personalities.
Not according to the girl I knew from Winter Hill -- Dawna Jawnson.
no, it’s because i eschew capitalization when i am posting on FR or otherwise chatting. i happen to be on a desktop now, but there is def a tendency to use shorthand when typing on an ipad. my family all has smartphones and when we are out to dinner, everyone will check their phone etc. but we are nonetheless companionable, and will converse. It’s the same with watching tv at home, everyone is either on a laptop, ipad or smartphone, and facebooking [my kids], twittering [my husband] etc while watching tv together.
So character really doesn't matter then.
You can attempt to make it about whatever you please, and i am sure Newt will do just that. The point remains however that the republican/conservative voting public is not as immoral and forgiving as the Dems and it remains to be seen whether we can stomach a fat, philandering rogue as our candidate. Billy Jeff may have been charming to some, pasty thighs and all, but i have yet to meet the republican woman who is charmed by Newt IN ANY CAPACITY.
what really ticks me off is that the Republican party is so RINO and inbred that we cannot get a genuine candidate that espouses my views. to heck with the MSM and DC insiders. I want what I want and Newt is the closest thing I can find, give me someone better and I will dump him like he was one of his own exwives. I want a pitbull to tear into theO and his policies and dump him into the trashbin of history along side jimmah.
The multitasking with an iPad is good and bad. I was able to read the paperback Atlas Shrugged in about three days, but I find myself leaving my book to pop over to see what is happening on free republic a little too often :). Also, I need to learn how to ignore Words with Friends pings :)
We have to defeat Obama with what we have. My comments are that character is obviously not as big an issue with the electorate in general.
my point exactly.
i will vote for ABO, but there are republican women who will NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS pull a lever for Newt. you can cry issues all you want, republicans are not the sewer- dwelling Democrats
except the republican electorate is the one we have to hope will overlook character and i don't think that can be counted on. Dems overlook character but won't overlook it to vote for a republican billing himself as a conservative.
