Straw Poll: Who will win the Republican Florida Primary?
Newt Gingrich (45%, 700 Votes) Mitt Romney (23%, 363 Votes) Rick Santourm (16%, 257 Votes) Ron Paul (16%, 251 Votes) Total Voters: 1,571
Can dems or independents vote in the FL primary? If only pubs can, then Romney is toast in FL.
Wow! Let’s keep this momentum going!
I’m beginning to wonder if Newt should buy airtime for Romney to continue running whatever ads he’s been running down there in Florida. LOL!
Only Republicans.
You’re right. Toast is Romney’s new name.
GO NEWT!
WOO-HOO!
I believe it is a closed primary - Republicans only.
Newt Gingrich (46%, 735 Votes)
Mitt Romney (23%, 367 Votes)
Rick Santourm (16%, 257 Votes)
Ron Paul (15%, 255 Votes)
Total Voters: 1,614
Newt:Mitt::2:1
Santorum by 2 votes over Ron Paul.
Go home Santorum.
Why should he get out? He’s not hurting anybody. And besides, I’m voting in the FL primary next Tuesday and am hoping I still have someone I can pull the lever for and not feel bad about it.
Gingrich and Santorum are not on the ballots in states that will provide a total of 564 delegates Missouri, Illinois, Dist of Columbia, Ohio and Virginia .
Is this true?????? How is Gingrich going to win???? Although there is a lot of problems with Ohio and people not sure if Newt is on the ballot. How is that possible too?
Why would you put up a sure loser just over some technicalities? The only way Romney wins this is by a wide margin. If he is still getting sub 50% votes by convention time, he's done. I guess Paul will have the money to stay in and one of Newt or Santorum will be the anti Romney vote. Romeny has never gotten above 30% approval so far. If Santorum gives up, will Newt get his votes? Probably, because they would have already settled on Romney if they wanted him.
This is particularly encouraging as it reverses that disturbing Romney trend that had been developing in Florida. Newt appears to have the momentum going into Florida despite Romney's money/organization advantage. He needs to keep up the fire to keep that head of steam building. Also encouraging, it looks like money and support will be drying up for Santorum soon so he will have to make a choice soon. FWIW Santorum supporters, we all still respect you and like you and feel that, given our many similarities and few differences, we hope that you'll find your way over to the Gingrich camp should things not pan out for your candidate the way you had hoped they would.
1/20/2012 6:23:00 PM Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has certified the federal and state candidates that will appear on ballots in the March 6 Ohio Primary ballots.
The Republican presidential candidates are: Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. Santorum will not be on the ballot in the 6th, 9th or 13th Congressional districts.
EMILY SCHULTHEIS | 1/6/12 6:20 PM EST Rick Santorum has filed the required signatures to appear on the Illinois ballot, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.
Santorum filed his petition shortly before todays 5 p.m. deadline. Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry and Buddy Roemer also filed to appear on the ballot. As of the deadline, Jon Huntsman had not filed.
Interesting that the breakdown is the same as actual vote totals in SC.
Only ppubs can vote. I can sense Romney getting ready to go into a very ugly meltdown. His “PAC’s” ads were in full force last night as he was out trying to smear Newt. I can almost hear Mitt screeching in Hillary’s “Don’t tell us we can’t criticize that eeeevil Bush guy” voice. The pent up evil in Mitt will start to ooze out and folks will see what the establishment GOP has married itself to. Possible epiphany opportunities.
