BLT Steak unveiled a brand new Burger Board today — which includes the Obama Burger (above) that gave chef Victor Albisu the win in Eater's Obama Burger Challenge back in April. And what a phenomenal burger it was: handchopped grilled Kobe beef with Wisconsin cheese, burnt tomato ketchup, bacon and the fresh ramp mustard that won over judges and burger experts Spike Mendelsohn and Mike Bober.
The burgers will be on offer during lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and a rep tells Eater there will be no fewer than five burger options at a time on BLT Steak's Burger Board — though Albisu has created more than a dozen recipes that he'll be unleashing on diners on a rotating basis.
Given the restaurant's proximity to the White House and reputation as a power dining spot, the burgers are a wink at politics — a Spam and pineapple burger called "The Birth Certificate" and a VP burger made with Sloppy Joe sauce. For more burger options, check out the press release below.
