How can it be possible he had a gun, the law doesn't allow felons to own guns.

Mr Ayro became upset with Mr. Middleton and Mr. Adams. Mr. Ayro made some type of comment that he would be back for them and left the restaurant. A short time later, Mr. Ayro confronted Mr. Middleton and Mr. Adams in the parking lot and open fire on them with a handgun. Mr. Ayro fired several rounds and left the area in his vehicle.

Investigators developed probable cause to arrest and charge Mr. Ayro with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.

Of course, if the perp had shot a police dog, he'd be charged with attempted murder.
