I will never claim to understand Mormons that’s for sure.
But we really have bigger problems than this interdenominational stuff.
Such a short phrase, but loads & loads of assumptions there...
Assumption #1: People can't multi-task on "problems."
Wow! With this assumption...hey, just start telling families to stop doing some of their home chores so they can deal with the "bigger problems" of their lives.
Assumption #2: Mormonism is just another form of Christianity, even tho it's polytheistic and says you can be a god -- neither of which are "Christian." (Your use of the word "interdenominational" gave away this assumption)
Assumption #3: We as Christians are to be bent upon following the assumptions of Vandekoik -- not Jesus nor the apostle Paul.
Sorry, but I take my cue from Jesus:
"I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." (Luke 12:4-5)
So does Jesus say, "fear the Muslims?" (No)
Does Jesus say "fear the socio-political problems of the day?" (No)
Instead, does He say to exercise fear of the One who has authority to cast somebody into hell? (Yes)
So, indeed, our "fear" is on behalf of those who are placing their eternal spiritual lives at risk.
As Paul was leaving the church of Ephesus, he warned them with this high-priority alert:
"I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears." (Acts 20:29-31)
Paul's cultural priority? (Defend against the false disciples who will proselytize the flock and draw away men unto themselves!)
I mean, what? Paul did this every day & night for three years. And now, if you get to heaven, ya wanna presume to lecture Paul over how he spent those three years w/such an emphasis? Really?
interdenominational stuff
- - - - - -
interdenominational stuff is minute differences between Lutherans and Methodists.
The difference between Mormons and Christians is the SAME difference as Muslims and Christians.
And the salvation of souls is more important than politics.
However, Mormonism aside I WILL NEVER EVER EVER VOTE FOR MITT.
What?
Interdenominational stuff? You are making a joke right?
Interdenominational would be the difference between Catholics, and Protestants.
The difference between mormonISM and Christianity is the difference between Biblical teachings and top hat fantasy.
lds teach that jesus is created, not eternal.
lds teach that god is progressed, not eternal.
lds teach salvation must be worked for, not a Gift of Grace.
Before you make another fopaux, I would suggest that you learn about mormonISM.
