TX winners--1942-Jo Carroll Dennison; 1971 - Phyllis George (think she married Evan Bayh-he married a Miss America); 1975 - Shirley Cothran.

It has been a long dry spell since Miss TX won.

Heck, my hometown of Denton, Texas has two Miss Americas. Phyllis George grew up down the block from me and Shirley Cothran was across town. Both are Denton Broncos.
