I know you mean well, and are coming from an admirable place. But you have bought into the whole soldier or marine as a sensitive, tee-totaling, reverent, pensive, gentleman thing.
It is a myth made in Hollywood. In the part of the military that actually does the killing, up close and personal, its a very nasty place.
You are fortunate to not know.
So save the sermons,,, and maybe read some accounts about the war in the Pacific. This war has that kind of hatred. There will be some insensitive moments.
