Dear Rita—
I realize things like this offend the delicate sensibilities of people who have never seen war or been in combat. This is to be expected. However, I assure you much worse occurs.
People have short memories and seem to forget WWII GIs burning Japanese soldiers out of bunkers with flame throwers and inspecting the still-smouldering bodies of the dead.
The worst these Marines should receive is an order to not do this again, and an ass chewing for being so stupid as to video it in the first place.
I am ALL FOR flaming the enemy bunkers. Desecration of the dead has nothing to do with battle tactics. Besides, I can’t get my question answered. I won’t repeat it a third time, for fear of the cognitive and introspection challenges it seems to be causing, to the purposes I already named and listed in my inquiry.
