BTW, I’ve been looking forward to tasting moonshine. I visited the Tarahumara indians in Mexico a long time ago, and wanted to taste their corn beer, but it’s apparently made for celebrations only, so I was out of luck because they were between celebrations at that moment. One author described the taste as “...somewhere between prune juice and fermented lawn clippings,” so maybe....
There's a guy near here that has an apple orchard. He got a grant to cook up some waste apples and make "fuel" for his equipment. I tasted some of this fuel, approximately 1/8" at the bottom of a 1oz plastic shot glass. MMMMMMmmmm! Apple flavored hooch! I would have bought a gallon if I could have! But I sure felt that 1/8" of hooch. We had to spend a little extra time around the old orchard before I drove home.
