Kindle Publishing Questions (Self-Publishing)
Self | January 11, 2012 | PJ-Comix

I am interested in self-publishing on Kindle. Eventually I would like to publish a book but first I want to publish articles via Kindle of just 500 to 1000 words each. I would like to make the articles available for FREE to the public. This is to familiarize the general public with my humor and would be great publicity for my book.

So what I want to know is if it is okay to publish stuff on Kindle that would be available to the public for FREE. Also is there some sort of Kindle index in which such articles would be listed?

He could of course buy the Atlantis word processor which outputs epub natively and then run titles through Sigil to add the table of contents.

Then you only need calibre to convert to mobi and you have an ePub ready for all the non amazon stores.

Microsoft Word has a Table of Contents feature as well. If one already has Word, there’s little reason to buy another word processor. Once the HTML is created and uploaded into Calirbre, Calibre will convert to any viable format.

I’m too cheap to buy word. Atlantis is twentynine bucks and Sigil is free.
Frugality is next to godliness.

Yes, I am noticing that there are articles on Kindle both free and paid. Actually I will be paying 99 cents for an article on publishing Kindle articles. Most of my articles would be free but I definitely can think of a lot of informational articles for which I would charge 99 cents. Of course, I WON'T be publishing an article on how I got my Compaq Laptop Presario computer for FREE because to do so would mean the loophole that allowed me to get it would be closed (and closed for everybody else as well) if it became known to the public. However, I might post an article on how to get FREE gasoline via coupons. I would have to think on that though because I don't want to ruin that gravy train.

One article that I would like to publish is for NASCAR fans on how they can follow the NASCAR circuit for months while making a lot of money and still see all the races. I used to do that for 6 months at a time and at the end of it was able to simultaneously pay all my bills and still have several thousand bucks in my pocket. There are certain techniques to do this known only to your humble correspondent and would like to pass them on to posterity. At one race I even earned $700 in the hour just before the race...on top of what I earned the day before and earlier the same day.

This post was a year or so ago. Did you ever get as far as publishing on Kindle?
