Aw, gee, again. Basically, although I'm an attorney (we make mistakes in our youth), I research, write, and speak for a living. My son says I write two term papers a week. I did a little check. Key West didn't win, according to one source, if you use "couples" as the key. Key West didn't even place or show. And North Druid Hills, GA and Decatur, GA are Atlanta suburbs that nestle each other right at Emory University.
Cities with the highest percentage of same-sex couples:
Of course, if everybody's just running around NOT putting Tab A in Slot B - but all of the Tab A's are just having a merry old time without coupling, and all of the Slot B's are doing likewise, I guess the report wouldn't count them.
Where Do Gay and Lesbian Couples Live?
Key West only makes #7 on this list (behind Decatur, GA - mentioned above, which is Key West's lesbian equivalent): Top 101 cities with the largest percentage of likely homosexual households. Wilton Manors, FL, and West Hollywood, CA win.
HELLO Agnes Scott College! (and Emory University professors)
Decatur and North Druid Hills are both on the list, one before Key West and one after, #6, 7, and 9.
As GayNeighborhoods.com says (I SWEAR I didn't know the site existed until I started researching this right now) about Decatur, GA: " a mecca for lesbians and the whole gay community."
Atlanta itself is #32.
Those other four areas are 'communities' that stretch from Emory University to Agnes Scott College (it's . . . umm . . where the Indigo Girls started, both Emory grads). That area apparently beats Key West.
