Election Strategies.

Did you ever feel that eerie deja vu feeling? Here we are again, just three short years after McCain was foisted upon us and those of us who clung stubbornly to our principles along with our Bibles and guns were visciously attacked by "party trumps all" types for refusing to vote for that backstabbing sack of yak-squeeze (thanks Mr. Boortz) as if he were the second coming.

Now here we are predictably once again about to nominate a worthless RINO.

We have Republicans telling us that while it looks like a liberal, and talks like a liberal and has a record of a liberal, it's one of us. I fail to see it.

There are many facets to what led us to this upsetting time. For one, Governor Perry was in no way prepared for prime time as his early debates showed. He's looking better lately but first impressions mean everything.

House members decided to run, splitting the conservative vote badly. Good God can we all agree that representing a district of a hundred thousand does not translate well to the Presidency?

Herman Cain. I was on the Cain Train and still sore that he dropped out.

I did not vote for John McCain in '08 and I don't regret it. I can foresee no scenario under which I vote Romney.

I will however, and I beg of anyone reading this to PLEASE, please, please vote in the congressional races.

This does two things very well. One, It hamstrings Obama for at least two years. Two, it sends a strong message to the RINO establishment about their choices of Presidential candidates in recent years.

If we still have a nation in 2016 with elections I hope and pray that someone far smarter than I, with much better resources will consider starting a PAC that works towards narrowing our primary field to 2 or 3 from the beginning. The reason should be obvious.

One last thing about Romney; I have spoken with a few of his supporters here and elsewhere and all but one was a mormon. Most mormons that I have known personally are extremely conservative. If you are a mormon freeper and reading this ask yourself, with Romneys' liberal record and flip-flops, were he NOT a mormon, would you even give him a second thought?

I think we all know the answer to that.

During the GOP debate, if one wants to call it a debate, it was obvious ABC was pushing Romney. Romney must have been given over half the time during the debate to express his pointless banter. He talked and talked and talked without saying anything of value except to make it seem more and more how much his words remind me of Obama’s “hope and change” diatribe during his campaign for the 2008 election. There is no doubt in my mind Romney will do little to undo the damage Obama has done to our nation which is exactly the road the GOP established is content to continue traveling. This nation will continue sliding down into the ditch of destruction with either Obama or Romney.

And as with 2008, when Romney loses the RINO establishment will say it proves that we can’t run these radical right-wing candidates and need to nominate someone more “moderate” in 2016.

The solution is that we HAVE to primary every single RINO in the country and knock them out of the primaries.

“I can foresee no scenario under which I vote Romney.”

I will not be voting for Romney as well. No matter what.

And before someone posts the obligatory, stupid, “I hope you’re happy electing Obama!” comment, it is the republican establishment foisting this liberal republican on us that is to blame if Obama gets re-elected. Send your comments to them. I’m fresh out of, “hold my nose and vote for the RINO.” today. I’ve been fooled in too many elections to fall for the same lie again.

They still hold elections, don't they?

If conservatives can't produce a candidate and rally around him, then that's just our lot in life.

Me, too. However, three very interesting developments—two in just the last 24 hours—may bode otherwise:

In the last 24 hours

1. Evangelicals can’t agree on supporting a single candidate to challenge Romney successfully. (Not, as even FOX is saying, that a more conservative candidate can’t beat Romney for the nomination.)

2. Ed Rollins, in a perhaps-unscripted moment, mentioned on FOX that Evangelicals “failure (to coalesce behind a candidate)” might force new entries into the fray, mentioning specifically Huckabee, Christie, and (here’s the unscripted part) Sarah Palin. He didn’t expound on how or when, but he’s been around long enough to know that it’s not impossible for someone not now in the running to emerge.

A few weeks ago

Sarah stated with a high degree of confidence that this was going to be an “unconventional” primary season. And what could be more unconventional than waiting for the GOP convention to agree on a candidate? And who, of the three candidates mentioned by Rollins, have the best chance of gaining the Conservative portion of released delegates? In which case, she’d have avoided the internecine GOP fights, fresh for the Obama sleaze machine which she’s weathered before.

But back to point 1—why can’t evangelicals agree? Because two of their three choices are Catholics, and the other’s inarticulate. As a prod and an evangelical herself, Sarah could sew up that vote pretty fast. And meanwhile she’s pure as the driven snow where attacks against other Conservatives are concerned.

Those people are the problem.

I held my nose and voted for McCain in 2008, I don't know if I have enough stamina to hold my nose and vote for McCain v2.0 (Romney) in 2012. However, you will be surprised, if and when, Romney secures the nomination, the former Romney haters in talk radio and even on here will magically turn into the Mitt fan club, and woe to any who speak ill of Mitt. I saw it happen with McCain, all he had to do is issue a weak statement against illegal immigration and nominate Palin and conservatives were slobbering all over themselves to support him.

Open primaries are a bigger problem than people who select the lesser of two evils.

As one born into mormonism and lucky to escape, I have to speak to those who know what it's really about, and remind them of the enormous traffic and capital the mormon cult will milk on a daily basis every day Romney is president, the number of people whose lives will be forever altered by this cult, and mormons becoming the dominant religious voice and therefore "the voice of christianity" in years to come. Look at their current growth numbers compared to christian churches and I do not exaggerate the case.

I admit I have a biased view, but as I've mentioned elsewhere, my scars give me the right to a biased view.

If Romney is the Republican nominee I will not abstain, I will vote against him...even if Obama is the only alternative. My reason is that a vote for either is a betrayal of my principles, but mormonism cost me any family I had and any family I might have had...it's personal, and to think of possibly thousands of people who might avoid the same experience...I just can't stand by.

If Mitt comes in a close second in SC, it's over.

I'm guessing he will be blown away and this thing opens up again to a non Rino nominee.

Otherwise, how come the only way to get rid of Rinos is failed presidential runs?

Four short years ago was the start of the election season. Next January will be four short years since Obama was Inaugerated, this year is three short years since he was inaugerated.

Just like to be precise.

Open primaries are a big problem, as they invite mischief by lefties. Any state Republican party that doesn't address this issue deserves to have their @$$3$ handed to them.

I remember that. I remember it because I was one of the few that continued to criticize juan and I called the election for obama. I did vote for juan and afterwards I publicly stated here on FR that I regretted doing so. I have since changed my mind. I no longer regret voting against obama and I plan to vote against obama again.

I understand your feelings on the issue but I won’t vote for Mitt because he’s a liberal, not because he’s a mormon.

I will not be surprised. I was here for the last election season and I’ve heard....disturbing stories about the 2000 nomination/election season vis a vis FR as well.

I will remain the same after the nomination as I am now. I do not change with the winds. If a persons’ only principle is power, then they stand for nothing.

If Romney is elected, radio talkers will mostly shut up because Mitt’s Bain controls Clear Channel and Cumulus, who own a huge share of talk stations.

"I will however, and I beg of anyone reading this to PLEASE, please, please vote in the congressional races. "

I will however, and I beg of anyone reading this to PLEASE, please, please force a Tea Party type candidate on your local Republican Party NOW in the congressional races.

The establishment is working right now to give a RINO candidate the nomination.
