Here in the nations capital and in the Bay State, some folks are perplexed by the curious case of Sen. Scott Brown and his decision to back President Obamas controversial recess appointment last week a move that irked his Republican comrades and placed him squarely on the side of his likely Democratic challenger.
Over the past year, the White House and congressional Republicans have engaged in an epic battle over the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, a watchdog agency created by the Dodd-Frank Act and built from the ground up by Elizabeth Warren.
Republicans hate the bureau, saying its too powerful and its authority is too centralized.
GOP senators vowed to block the confirmation of any director until the whole agency was revamped.
That didnt placate the GOP. They joined to filibuster Cordray. Browns was the sole Republican vote in Cordrays favor. This wasnt the puzzling part. Brown had long expressed support for the agency, saying it was needed to protect consumers.

Zero is also using this agency as a campaign tool, setting up a website for people to complain about credit card company practices. Who has had trouble with a credit card? Everyone. But here is Our Savior Obama to help us out. This is why he had to get Cordray in there and get the whole thing rolling.
Here you see the problem that arises when you vote for the RINO—ANY RINO.
Not only do they desert the party on crucial issues; but theY demoralize the party as well, dilute the message and lend “BIPARTISAN SUPPORT” to the enemy.
He is using this Cordray to go after smaller banks, credit unions and loan companies, and smaller businesses that some of the Dudd-Crank debacle doesn’t cover.
The communists need to stick their nose in and regulate everything in order to control them. The outcome is many will go out of business. Consumers be damned.
Protection racket is more like it.
“I will shed no tears if Brown is defeated.”
I know what you mean. He’s cast some votes that irritate the hell out of me too. But, maybe a more pragmatic view is in order, at least until after the Nov elections. What if we (GOP) win the senate by one vote? Or, what if we hit the magic 60 number in the senate? Under either of these scenarios Scott Brown may come in handy from time to time. So, what say we keep our powder dry for a while longer :) ?
He's what's wrong with politics -- more interested in getting reelected than doing what's right.
I’m not falling for that game anymore. If he votes this way when he has to answer to the voters, then we’re screwed when he’s safely in his seat for six years. I’m not rewarding him for being an arrogant quasi-democrat. I will not help him get re-elected. The republican caucus will be better off without him.
Yes, I know that is one purpose.
There are probably even purposes we don’t know about yet, which is typical of what goes on with these czars.
I guess it takes a few months until you know the whole program they put in place to collapse everything.
It is pretty awful. Obama is so sneaky that he does this kind of thing behind our backs, and the media helps him keep it quiet.
“Comrades”?
Stupid liberal biased commie Journo-listers.
Scott Brown is a democrat who ran as a republican to get elected. He won’t last long in that disrict.
Brown is the non-Mormon Romney.
Im not falling for that game anymore.Well Cotton, I feel your pain. I’m tired of RINOS too. But, it’s all about which side gets to hold the gavel and bang on the podium. Those who hold the gavel gets to set the agenda And, I want the GOP to set the agenda for the next four years. I don’t live in Massachusetts (God Bless Texas) but if I did I would hold my nose and vote for Scott Brown over a Democrat for sure. Take the pain Cotton, take the pain :)
“Scott Browns vote shocks GOP comrades”
That would only be true if his vote was conservative.
This is MA. Kennedy, Romney, Frank. I’ve taken enough pain. Time for me to inflict some, by withholding my vote from these worthless politicians. If Brown wins, it will be without my help.
Ohkaaay, put “another” Kennedy in again - for life - again....
