I use propane for heat and soon for cooking and hot water (rennai) and at $2.49 per gallon right now that beats the power company.

Considering solar panels for the electric fence around the pastures and lights/appliances in the house.

Our power bill this month was insane, propane/solar is cheaper in the long run.
