Yes, the newspaper pots! I read about them here on the WGT. I hope it’s easy enough to do.

The newspaper pots are very easy ... I made the small ones by the hundred last year. Dug up these photos from previous gardening threads:

We don't subscribe to a newspaper, and our little 4 page paper wouldn't come close to making the number of pots I need anyway. My local grocery store does put out a nice sale circular every week. There is a 3-ft. stack of circulars right at the in/out doors of the store. I grab several of them each time I'm on my way out the door, and over the year I end up with a 2 ft. stack myself.

I'm sure that if I asked the manager, I could probably have the old stack every Wednesday when the new sale takes effect, but taking a few at a time does the trick.

I’ve used them for several years now and they work excellent and are very easy to make. I’ll try to explain but forgive if I flub it.

I take ½ newspaper page. Fold that in half the long way. I use a spray paint can. Place the can laying on the end of the folded newspaper with about 1” of the newspaper off the end of the bottom of the paint can. Roll the newspaper around the paint can. Fold the “bottom” of the newspaper over the end of the paint can and set the paint can up to crease the bottom. Take the paint can out and you have a planter. If the bottom doesn’t want to stay closed increase the amount of pressure you use to crease the bottom. The better you crease the bottom the better it stays closed.
