Home after commiserating with customerswho don’t have money any more than I do...
I hope that the present reality
Is the dystopia of next year-
And every novel recounting it
Will bring us all some cheer
As we remember our wretched years
Under Carter and Obama as hell
And we see our goods and services
Once more begin to sell
And as little by little we climb
From the pit of down and broke-
Let’s remember not to be fooled again
By some huckster’s mirrors and smoke
And now I’ve given myself an earworm-”And I get on my knees and pray-we don’t get fooled again”...
right on! A+++
The President's supporters are doing some novel recounting of the unemployment figures.
It should be an easy thing to calculate. They know how much money rolls in every week from every employed person in the country.
Somehow, though, they seem to lose track of certain details, like the fact that they just had a knock-down and drag-out over extending unemployment benefits again-n-n-n-n-n-n.
And how important it was for only those who were employed to have to pay less into Social Security so that their savings would boost the economy. (Never minding that Social Security is thus allowed to deflate even faster.)
Well, the claim is that figures don't lie, but the reality is that the liars are doing the figuring.
