He is a Democrat and Allegheny is going to have high taxes no matter what.

The point here is that the county is continually being forced by the courts to do reassessments, which lead only to more claims of unfairness, which lead to more demands for reassessments.

Meanwhile, other counties (like mine) have not assessed property values in decades. 1972 in my case.

All they want is to be left alone by the courts to decide when and where they want to assess. That I can agree with.

Nobody in any of the surrounding counties wants anything to do with the subject. A politician who promised to reassess would get booted out quick as a blink.

Your property is still assessed from 1972 prices? What if the house next door sells, do they then assess it at value based on the selling price?
