Right but fruits, especially berries, contain phytonutrients that, according to the literature I've read, have been found to fight cancer and other diseases. I've been on a restricted carb/sugar diet for years but I still consume at least one cup of blackberries or blueberries at least 3-4 times per week. Plus the berries have fiber which mitigates the effect that the natural sugar in the fruit would have on blood sugar levels.
