I always like to check out the DVDs at Family Dollar. The selection is incredibly random, but often fun. Yeah sure Shaft in Africa is terrible, but for $6 total you get all 3 what the heck. That’s the kind of sentence they make me say a lot, usually to the tune of $20 or so.

I was going to guess “Five Guys”.

Here in Kentucky we have a lot of Dollar General Stores and more under construction. I am always happy to see them open a new location because when you go to a Dollar General you see the size of the store when you pull into the parking lot they are pretty small. Then when you go inside you are always surprised at the huge selection of items available. They are building in areas considered too small to support a Wal-Mart slowly but surely taking sales from Wal-Mart. Here is the best part of all this what can Wal-Mart do to combat this. The answer is nothing. Wal-Mart recently announced a small store concept to try to fight off this kind of competition. I predict it will be a huge flop and I hope it is. Imagine going in a mini Wal-Mart the first impression will always be that they have nothing to offer because everyone has seen the items available in a super Wal-Mart making a mini Wal-Mart a huge waste of time. Dollar General Corp may be the most well run retailer in America.
