Well, the only thing I’ve ever flown was a Cessna 172 a few times. That had two sources of thrust: The propeller when the engine was on, and my legs pulling it out of the hangar when the engine was off. Of course, if you try that second one with an F-35 you’ll throw your back out real good.
I used to slightly yaw my Piper Colt by sticking my hand out the door; then because of the wing dihedral it would sometimes bank a bit.
