Ok, my guy Perry is out so make your pitch (without copy/pastes and spam) for Gingrich or Santorum.
I like Gingrich's intellect and he has a pretty good record, but I am having trouble trusting him as he seems to lack the spine under pressure.
I like Santorum's traditional conservative values and record on domestic policy, but he sounds too much like a neoconservative with his foreign policy and I am frankly finished with nation building (I mean this in the true sense of the word "neoconservative" and not as a Paulbot style attack).
I can rule out Romney and Paul for obvious reasons.
I see it that way myself. Santorum’s sudden rise is the same thing that has been happening all year. Knee Jerk reaction has become the label for the Republican base. (It's embarrassing)
What few people know about Santorum, is his record of BIG spending. There never was an earmark he didn't love to grab.
(Not to mention his support for Specter) Santorum is also out of money and has almost no organization in the other states. He is just another Huckabee. The “Evangelical” vote in Iowa is how he did so well.
Newt will likely stage a comeback after New Hampshire, since the last several elections tend to lean towards SC and beyond.
IF I had been a supporter of Mitt, I would have changed today.
Can't support anybody who is endorsed by John McCain!!!!!!
Can’t support anybody who is endorsed by John McCain!!!!!
Isn’t that the truth. I love it though because McCain is the kiss of death. Everyone looks to him as a “loser” who is trying to stay relevant but is not working.
Newt has in fact balanced the budget before. That is a small number of people that can make that claim. Remember, it's not bragging if you can do it. Many regard that as arrogance. I would put his record of accomplishment against anyone's. He has ideas, then implements them. That scares people. Sometimes I think people prefer the status quo rather than do something.
I’m hoping for a Santorum/Perry ticket.
Gingriches doesn’t have many conservative lapses when he is in elected office. Do you think Santorum could win his own state against Obama?
My candidate went back to Texas, and I am very unhappy about that. However, Santorum has always been my second choice. But I have doubts as to whether he can repeat his Iowa success elsewhere. Love his unapologetic social conservatism, though.
As for Newt, I agree with you——he’s too untrustworthy. But if he’s the last man standing against Willard, I’ll support him——as much as I can, that is. Living in Virginia as I do, my only options are to vote for the liberal or the lunatic, and I will do neither.
This field is absolutely stank type rancid... having said that....
There is only one candidate that lead a conservative revolution.... only one candidate that kept a flaming lib president in check.... only one candidate that can tear the msm a new one... only one candidate with the gonads to take the fight where it needs to go...
There are those that say words do not matter, actions do...when one is in the private sector, you have to do what you have to do to make a living. We all have done things on the job that have left a bad taste in our mouths. My question is, which candidate did the job, and plain blasted the libs???
Santorum. What you see is what you get, there will be no Clintonian bs. Having said that either is preferable to Mitt and all are infinitely better than the prince.
Have you folks seen Santorums speech?....Game on!

Concur regarding Governors being preferrable, but not this time around if its Mittens.
Mitt and the RNC think calling Obama a "nice guy;but. . ." and "well intentioned; but. . ." is the best/safest MO to win by a strategy of 'NOT offending' our opposition. Incredible, really. NOT the way to win an ideological war. Much less, the wars per our foreign and domestic battlegrounds.
The time for mind-numbing political correctness - and the death of brain cells it creates; and by turn, the death of a nation - is over. Or, should well be. . .
Newt tells like is; he is not afraid to offend; the truth not always pleasant; and it is often confrontational. Our Country is on the brink; and 'Mr. Nice Guy' is not going to save it. The truth should not be be diluted into the palatable. . .or into 'pap'.
Most interesting; is that the those who do speak with a bit of bombast i.e. 'put lid on political correctness'; who dare to speak a truth; are met with kudos (witness Donald Trump and Chris Christie; who created a positive storm by doing just that). Americans; by and large; are willing and wanting; to hear the power of authentic truth spoken.
Your choices if you were not in VA are going to be Newt or Mitt. Santorum has no national appeal, infrastructure or money to compete past NH.
Like I said, the game has changed. Can’t use the national numbers from the week before, not with Perry and likely Bachmann dropping.
It’s a 4 man race, and it looks like Santorum’s the beneficiary.
He’s already up to 10 percent in New Hampshire which is 4x where he was just a few weeks ago. Likely up to around 17-18 percent nationally at this point.
Yes, he still has significant work to do to catch up, but this race still got much more interesting.
Gingrigh/Martinez When you think about it, it works! Add Bolton SOS, Palin Energy and Lt. Col. West Defence.
Last I checked Gingrich couldn’t muster himself onto the ballot in VA.
Let’s see how things go by then before writing him off.
He’s earned a ticket to Florida with his Iowa performance.
You’re right!
You forgot your sarcasm tag... I hope.
