Many of the Paul votes for instance; will be protest votes. People want to send a message by voting for him. I don't think the seriously want him as President.
I know intimately what you are talking about being a Republican Legislative District Vice Chair and Precinct Committee Officer. Each precinct is very intimate and there is opportunity for information and answers to questions among caucus members. If a caucus member has a question that is beyond their ability to answer, the Precinct Committee Officer has access to phone numbers and, in today’s information age, ways to get that information quickly.
In the case of a mass caucus where several precincts hold their caucus in a single building, there is access to information from those present in the room. In our legislative district, our PCOs all know each other we can find those with the answers. Those attending get a wealth of information that they would never get anywhere else. And their input is given great attention.
