I am not questioning your comments about Cabot, just Tillamook. There are many different catagories within the cheese competition. Different ages, types & flavors.
Tillamook won the 2010 best in world medium cheddar, their signature cheese. That same year Cabot won first place in a sharper cheddar in which I believe Tillamook came in right behind.
Tillamook does not make a special competition cheese for these competitions as many of the others do. When you buy Tillamook cheese you are buying the cheese that won the competition.
Do you know for a fact that Cabot *produces cheeses* especially for competitions, or is that just an assumption?

When you buy Cabot cheese you are buying the best mass marked Cheddar cheese in the USA. And you are supporting small dairy farmers and traditions that are slipping away elsewhere, in this once great nation. :)
