I live in central NY State and live in a 2-bedroom apartment. Over the summer the complex office sent a man over to check my air conditioning system. When I asked him about the accuracy of the Honeywell thermostat I had, he said that it was a mercury thermostat, and they were one of the more accurate thermostats. Unfortunately though, they have been outlawed, I’m assuming in the state, and you can’t get them anymore. I told him I thought it was rather strange that the government was shoving mercury-based lightbulbs down our throats, but we weren’t able to own mercury thermostats.
Ain’t that the absolute, completely obvious truth.
Imagine how many Honeywell thermostats there are in your town.
Now imagine how many CFL bulbs have been forced upon the residents of your town just this year.
Now consider. Ever hear of a Honeywell thermostat shattering for any reason?
Ever?
