If they sell me 95-watt bulbs, I'll still be happy. It's just plain silly.

By the way, did they ever address putting curly bulbs inside ovens and refrigerators?

I don't think that will work out too well.

If some small businessman grocery guy busts a curly bulb inside his meat locker, does he have to throw away thousands of dollars worth of meat, due to the mercury contamination? Or, does he try to hide it, and risk that some employee will rat him out?

It's such nonsense.

To be honest I’m going to skip right over CFL’s to LED bulbs, but the principle is really what’s the issue.

Sure the LED bulbs use a lot less energy and don’t burn out as often. And they’re getting cheaper.

SO WHY DOES THERE NEED TO BE A LAW???

The market would resolve this automatically.

Just now, when I went to the kitchen to get a drink of water, a bulb popped when I turned on the switch. Not to worry though. I have a decent little stockpile.

At age 64, I'm not sure I'll live long enough to make any CFL bulbs pay for themselves. Plus, the light they put out is rough on my wifes' eyes (she has an autoimmune illness that affects vision.

Long story short---I think I'll keep using Edison's invention, but thank you, federal government, for having my well being at heart. /s
