Obama is, Faust and foremost, intent on consolidating governmental power to himself, though technically has no “spiritual” values to sacrifice (unless Rev. Wright counts)...

A spit of water is an exact amount like a burn of hot sauce or a gag of okra. Let’s see....a choke of peanut butter, a slime of oysters, exact amounts all.

This word used to remind me of the clintons. He was actually a clever man, unlike his wife or the couple of losers in today’s WH.

Home from a couple of errands to the general store and talking to one of my neighbors about trading some leftover 1”x6” leftover wood flooring that I have-and she can use- for something that I might need/be able to use-

The Faustian state of affairs
That Obama promotes without shame
Has made Washington, DC a toilet-
And that’s the least offensive name

While he’s golfing in Hawaii
And splurge-dining with Michelle
He’s oblivious that most of us
Remember who consigned us to hell

How lovely if, after the election
Accountants going through the trash
Find that the grifters owe us money
And make them pay it back in cash

None of the few of us living on this road are in the mood for celebrating New Year’s-most of us have lost someone in the last couple of years, we are broke, and mostly down. I’m going to find a movie on TV for myself and the pets to curl up with, then go out on the deck and see if pyro who lives across the water is doing fireworks with his neighbors-he always has such good ones...

Yup. Wild bill is like the riverboat gambler. You know he’s a liar and a cheat....but....as a politician it’s to be expected and if it was like sports you’d take him on your team tomorrow

I'd recommend "Up!" It's a cartoon, but it has a sensitivity and a poignancy that just might help you work up a cry.

And it has a lot of happy moments to cheer you up again.

Many thanks, I happen to like cartoons, but there is no place to get movies in any form out here.-I don’t really think I want to cry-I’ve pretty much done all of that I care to this holiday season, so maybe I’ll find a favorite romantic comedy somewhere on DirecTv.

Can I find “Up” to rent/buy at the video places? I’ll look for it when I’m in the nearest “city” 20 miles away next week...

That’s what makes you an optimist. Someone asks me for an uplifting movie.....I recommend the Zapruder film

/secserv. Humor disclaimer

Just goes to show how intricate and convoluted my thinking can be. Someone asks for an uplifting film, and I think of “Up!”

Devious and inscrutable I am alright.

Yes.

You won't need to watch it more than once, but it's worth having around if kids appear.

You mean GOOD spiritual values as in a Loving God.....I suspect he is a true Faustian as are a lot of soulless liberals.

I hear you. We are invited to a party where there will be some heavy drinking. I want to go, if just for a bit. We went last year. I will go closer to midnight and leave immediately.
Our other option is if the girlies’ grandmother bails on them for on New Year’s Eve and we will go down for the night and babysit, which is our preferred choice. We, also, can go down to the station and hang with others, no alcohol allowed, and take turns running calls. There will be food and drink there as well. Or, we can just stay home. Except for babysitting, it all sounds boring to me. I must be getting old or something.

I could recommend a good book, except that I haven't written any.

Thank you! The get together at the station sounds like fun. I’m going to wash my hair, touch up the gray and answer my e-mails. Maybe that will put me in a brighter mood.
