Many people do not have a great appreciation of America until you go to another country and see it for yourself and realize how good we have it here.
I bet ? when that guy's money runs out that his wife will not be so loyal and she will have to go visit some long lost relative in another Provence for a few days every month.
Things might be better for him in Cebu, but in Manila ? it's a hell hole for most people there.
We don't realize how nice our roads are here, or our air until you go to a city like Manila.

I’m just not interested in moving to any kind of Foreign Parts, but I can see why a person without attachments could be happy someplace totally different. There seem to be quite a few places in the world that are promoted on the basis that “If you have a steady supply of dollars, the locals will see you get a steady supply of whatever you want.”
It’s not the life I want, but if it’s the life they want, fine.
