It can be lonely. Sometimes there isn’t even anyone online. However, tomorrow our extended family has a big fun Chanukah party, so all will be well.
Oh, and if you live in L.A., you can get up early and drive all over the freeways as fast as you want and get wherever you want in 20 minutes. It’s pretty cool.
Well, this Jew loves Christmas. I just went out yesterday to be around people because everyone is so flipping happy for the few days before Christmas. Everyone is smiling at one another, saying Merry Christmas and I love it. I love the lights, the music, the crazy hats...I love it all. I went to a Hannukah party last night at our small synagogue here and that was fun too. Tomorrow I and my husband, who is Christian, will go to the movies to see WAR HORSE. Then, next week, everyone will go back to being a bit pissed off and all will be normal again.
Wishing you and your whole family a Happy Chanukah, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year; Yaelle!
May you never feel lonely, your family happy and prosperous and your plates and glasses always be full!
In my family, we have some old friends who are Jewish and they always come over to share Christmas dinner with us. It’s nice because my family is very small and their family is spread across the globe from Israel to California.
This year, we are also inviting an elderly nun who is a long-time friend of both our families.
My neighbor is a car operator for the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway....he always works Christmas, and tells me they’re totally swamped with Arabs, Asians and Jewish folks.
