DETROIT -- Matthew Stafford led a victory-lap parade around the perimeter of Ford Field, high-fiving fans that have been waiting since 1999 for the Detroit Lions to make the playoffs.
With the crowd chanting "Play-offs! Play-offs!" as the final few minutes ticked away, Detroit clinched a postseason spot thanks to Stafford's three touchdown passes in a 38-10 win over the San Diego Chargers on Saturday. Stafford appeared to be touched by the face-to-face interaction with fans hanging over the railing to reach his raised right hand. "You could just get a sense of how much it meant to them," Stafford said. "It was fun to give them that kind of joy."

Is this one of the signs of the apocalypse?
Congrats to the Lions and their fans. I’m a Packers fan and still remember how great it was back in 94, winning that first playoff game in 11 years against the... Lions.
Great to see them play their best game of the year to get in....they can make some noise in the playoffs, especially since they’ve proven that they can win on the road.
Stafford just keeps getting better and better...he’s already developed into one of the top QBs in the league, just a matter of him staying healthy.
Superbowel ???
LOL
*snort*
More good news tonight for the Lions, as the Saints are pummeling the Falcons, now it looks like Detroit will play the winner of the NFC (l)East in the Wildcard Round.
