The one with the *wet* hair! ;)
Can do that in downtown Anchorage. :)
HAHAHA! Tel me about it!
Stayed in one in Lewiston, Maine. It had a blood stain on the floor in the shape of a heart, broken crack pipes outside the first floor window....never really got to experience the bed bugs though..b/c a fire broke out in a room in our hallway. Had to find another place to stay; it was lovely driving around in a city you don’t realize it’s the *drug capital* of Maine, looking for a room in the pouring rain at 2AM. Yep. Great fun.
“What the sherpas don’t tell you is that the butter in your tea (yes, it’s butter) came from yaks.”
I knew that and I’ll raise you a Water Buff burger.
But if we do that, I WILL be at sick call in the morning for parasite medicine. Asia sucks for the unwary.

Oy... No wonder you like camping. Cities suck. Downtowns suck harder.
My last 2am pouring rain I was under a loblolly pine, snuggled into pine needles, with a pancho converted to tarp over me.
Smelled good, no overt goat sacrifices on the bed, no blood anywhere. No chance of a fire besides my cigarette.

Next best are the home-made firestarters:
1) save an empty cardboard carton from a dozen eggs
2) each time you run the dryer, save the lint
3) put the lint in each separate egg-holding oval with some melted paraffin
Cut one off and light it. Will start and keep going unless it's either hailing or pouring.
Cheers!
Cheers!
...oh, and Merry Christmas!
I've wanted a yurt for years, but doubt I'll ever bother with one. The last time I looked at them was about 10 years ago, and they were about 5 or 6 times the cost of these, so I suspect there's a significant difference in terms of durability and particularly snow loading.
LOL!

This is our go-to place for “camping”. Husband gets to relive his Boy Scout days, I get a real bed- total win/win situation....
I’m sure they had toilet paper, you’ve just overlooked something heh.
That is a paradise! Winter camping in the PPCLI was my sleeping bag (not waterproof), and ya, that was about it. I’d put my helmet over top of my boots to keep the snow out, lay my rifle in the snow (nothing for it), and stuff my clothes into my sleeping bag, and curl up in the fetal position and wish I had my mommy hehe.
*disclaimer* I did have a therma rest to keep me off of the snow.
You are correct; Pacific Yurts have some of the best and can be equipped for high snow loading and high winds with extra fasteners and insulation, but they are certainly pricey! Can also equipt them with A/C or wall-type heaters and electricity if desired for year-round living. My biggest concern would be security as a knife can wreck havoc on them similar to using a knife on a convertible top.

That brought back chilly memories!
