On one of the weekly cooking threads, I think that’s where it was, someone posted an appetizer recipe for hot dogs wrapped in bacon and covered with brown sugar then cooked in an electric skillet til crisp and sticky. I can’t remember what it was called but would like to have that recipe for the Super Bowl.
YES! I remember that too! I had the recipe and another one similar then my HD crashed. Might take me awhile but let me check around. I might still have it on on old drive.
Skillet or casserole dish...I can't remember but I know it was the same thing and was pretty good for me...the family wan't crazy about it. They aren't crazy about anything I make, LOL!
I think this is similar to what I made. Used Little Smokies last year because Wife and Kids like them. May have put some cheese on them as well.
I think I also did them with regular hot dogs.
Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound sliced bacon, cut into thirds
1 (14 ounce) package beef cocktail wieners
3/4 cup brown sugar, or to taste
Directions
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
Refrigerate 2/3 of the bacon until needed. It is easier to wrap the wieners with cold bacon. Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar generously over all.
Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the sugar is bubbly. To serve, place the wieners in a slow cooker and keep on the low setting.
This ISN'T the exact recipe I was thinking of but pretty close.
This sounds like it
