It is a mysterious ball that looks like a prop from a science fiction film - and nobody can explain where it came from.
Police have been left baffled after a strange metal sphere fell to the ground in a remote area of northern Namibia, Africa.
It weighs around 13lbs, has a diameter of 14 inches and its rough surface looks like two halves welded together, said police forensics director Paul Ludik.
When the craft came down it caused a crater 12 inches deep and 13ft wide, although the ball itself was some 60ft away.
Locals claimed to have heard several explosions in the days before it was discovered by a farmer on his land.

Missbuster?
Look like a tank for storing some kind of fluid. There’s not evidence at all that it came from space. This is ridiculous. Stupid British media at work again. At least the story isn’t written in rhyme.
What ever you do don’t go poking it with a stick. Never poke anything from outer space with a stick. Jus’ sayin’.
Look at the melted bumps on either end.

Lost and found ad in the NY Slimes:
Have you seen my balls? Last seen in the vicinity of low Earth orbit traveling 17,500 mph. from a place near the International Space Station. Made of machined titanium about 14 inches in diameter with nipples on opposite ends, and weigh about 13 lbs. a piece. Side effect from possession of these objects include an increase in libido and testicular fortitude plus a passion hot women, fast cars and Italian cuisine.
If you have think you have seen these celestial spheres please call Larry@NASA at 1-800-BGBALLS or email me at larry@nasa.gov. Call me in the next two hours and receive a free set of space pens and collector’s set of Ginsu knives.
I was going to ask if anyone called Mythbusters. Seems to me Jamie lost a cannon ball a while back ;)
I however think it’s the fuel tank pictured earlier in the thread.
Randy Matson got off one legendary shot-put throw at the Mexico City Olympics in 1968. Looks like it finally came down. Get out the tape measure.
Looks like a small fuel tank for a Satelite or a space probe that finally returned to earth nothing more.
Do aliens use MIG welders, or ARC welders?
I have checked with International Space Command. They identified it as a UFO Thingy—unidentified falling object thingy. They request you contact them if the top starts to unscrew spontaneously, or if you happen to see Tom Cruise running away from it.
Most Mexicans use arc welders. Whoops wrong aliens...
Not ridiculous. It gets added to The List.
When I grow up I'll be a baffled expert. I mean that must be a well paying job with few qualifications required.
Police have been left baffled

Yeah, they must have tasered it 50 times, discharged 573 rounds into it, and it still won’t lay face down and comply and bleed.
That post really needs a Barf alert.
Why isn’t it just some space trash? I thought there was tons of it up there.
Punkin’ Chunkin’
Man anyone can see this is a neutron flux reducer from class V Zebulon-7 space freighter. Obviously they did an emergency refueling in our solar system and recharged the main anti matter reactor. Quite common really.
