Oh LOOK! Ron Paul invested in silver and gold!!!!! And has profited! What a surprise! I guess all that talk about siver and gold being an investement against inflation wasn’t BS after all....

I find it hilarious that FReepers are all of a sudden embracing the NAACP line. They aren't FReepers. Welcome to the "new" FR.

“Ron Paul, he must really scare some folks. “
He does me for sure. Not really him; there are crackpots all over. It's the support he is getting in spite of his massive flaws.
Scary that so many people could support someone so whacked out. I just assume most people have common sense; but this is showing that assumption is wrong.
No Paul doesn't scare me; it's his followers and their lack of perception that scares me.

This clearly isn’t based on inside information. He invested in a broad segment (mining and gold) with the same information any of us would have access to.

WRong Paul voted for this:

Hilarious. Do you want to identify what Congressional actions he was privy to that benefited gold and silver mining companies — besides figures on Fed printing?

I know a number of Paul supporters, I have no problem with any of them. They are sick of watching one president after another refuse to follow the Constitution, they believe Ron Paul will come closer to following the Constitution than any other caniddate.

Geez! Based on Julian Simon's correct bet with that freak (the guy who wrote the Population Bomb) in California (that basic raw materials would continue to increase in quantity and to decrease in inflation-adjusted price), it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that investing in the companies that produce them would (aside from something adversely affected by the EPA rather than market forces) be a money maker.

Fueled by his understanding of the inflationary policies unrelentingly pushed by his colleagues in Washington, Ron wisely loaded up on gold and gold mining stocks in the mid to late 1990s when those assets were regarded as the poor stepchildren of Wall Street.
That's funny, my father did the same thing, in the same time frame...and he got wiped out.

Y’know, you have a point there. Seems like anyone who could parse an argument without resorting to vitriolic attacks has left. Lots of smoke and less and less light.

AMEN!
You would think that people would have learned with Obama that talk is one thing and doing is another .. but apparently not. It is the same thing all over again.
I actually know democrats that are changing over to republican right now so that they can vote for Paul in the primary. They fully intend on voting for Obama in the general election, but they want Obama to face Paul. Or they at least want him in a position to split votes from a GOP candidate.
I swear that half the Paul supporters are really Obots yet.
