Possibly. At the very least, looking at the leader would have been interpreted as a challenge, which is one of those things one ought not to do assuming one wants to live a long, pain-free life.

An amazing video. The silverback could easily pull the guys arms off. They have incredible strength.

The guy did the smart thing, staying still and not making eye contact. The silverback could easily see that he was no threat. They are amazing animals.

I just did some reading and the Silverbacks have the strength of at least 10 of the biggest football players. Another site said they have been known to bend 2" thick steel bars.
