Obama was against short term bills (continuing resolutions) before he was for them (payroll tax cut)

What does this say about Obama?

He was once against short term bills, like continuing resolutions on the debt ceiling, saying that they could hurt the economy, slow the recovery, etc.

Now Obama is for a short term bill (2 month extension of the payroll tax cuts) saying that it needs to be passed, or the economy will be hurt, the recovery could be slowed, etc.

Obama was against it before he was for it.

Hussein should have stuck with voting “present”.

So the Republicans send him a ONE YEAR extension, the DEMOCRAPS in the senate kill it for a 2 months extension, and how exactly is this the Republicans fault?

Actually, it would be better if Obama would be consistent. Obama ran on raising taxes, then said we need to keep the Bush tax cuts, now wants to raise taxes on the rich again.

On so many issues he goes back and forth.

Can’t make up his mind......

It isn’t.

The House GOP are correct in fighting for a one year deal.

It is Reid that likes endless short-term bills.

And Obama can’t make up his mind what he wants.

This is Reid playing politics as he has been for the last three years. Predictably the MSM is presenting this as a case of the senate trying to give the taxpayers a reduction in payroll taxes.

Why is Fox repeating the senate's talking points and making it seem like the Boehner is the obstructionist?

Speaking of short-sightedness, here is a President who's Democrat led Senate does nothing, and is then able to call Congress a do-nothing Congress.

How is it that the Senate is allowed to NOT pass a budget for 1,000+ days? Do they pass continuing resolutions, or does the House "deem" that each budget is passed and send them to the White Crib for signing? How does this work?

Just askin'.....

If you are going to kick cans down the road, at least kick them far enough so some measurable effect comes of it.

Pass a 2-month extension? What is that? In two months we are faced with exactly the same problem all over.

And don’t think this FICA payroll tax “reduction” wasn’t paid for. It was - with a little clause that places an additional fee on all new residential mortgages or refinances in excess of $200,000 that are to be closed after the start of the year. Just a little heads’-up on the sly things the Senate Democrats slipped into this bill they sent over to the House and DEMANDED it be passed.

The Republicans sent a one-year extension over to the Senate, but it was shot down immediately. If Harry Reid really wanted to get out of Washington before Christmas, he woud have worked with that bill instead of posturing and demagoguing about giving the Republicans credit.

Lack of a budget is yet another thing the Republicans could be hammering the Democrats about and are not doing so.

Whoever is driving the Republican campaigns is doing so on the short bus.

Obama’s a stream of piss in the wind. If you are unfortunate enough to be downwind you get pissed on. If you are upwind you get to look at the other side and go, “Whew! I knew all along he was on my side!”

He reminds me of a fish I noticed in shallow back water after a flood...but, he is still dangerous to America.
