Regardless of any prior contractual agreement between a known male sperm donor and a female recipient, the welfare of the child has been and continues to be the overriding concern in any court regarding child support, whether or not the sperm donor waived parental rights, and regardless of involvement in the child's life or no involvement. The sperm donor is on the hook legally if the mother decides to pursue it, if he is known.
