Thanks for posting, bigbob.
I saw Bob Hope at Bien Hoa over Christmas, 1971.
Very hot and not a dry eye in the croud singing “White Christmas”.
Some of us were pulled directly from the field to fly down there and we were one grubby bunch.
God bless bob Hope. He made a huge difference.

In 1985 Bob Hope was in Monroe, Louisiana for a event in Ruston. His pilots used our FBO for refueling and parking that night. Mr. Hope had left for his performance and the pilots were sitting on the steps of the aircraft drinking a Scotch. I asked the captain what the real Bob Hope is like. The answer was “the man you see on the stage is the real deal and that is Mr. Hope.” He also added, “and Mr. Hope knows we are here drinking his Scotch.”
