Not really—in the “traditional sense.” We put up a pretty fresh-cut tree, and I mailed out Christmas cards, but we have not bought any gifts.

I'm here, by the grace of God. I traversed most of the state for work purposes this week. Then was tasked with attending two Christmas get-togethers on my wife's side of the family in an 18 hour period this weekend. One of which involved every genetic and marital relation within a fifty mile radius, a lot of food, Crown Royal and Seagram's VO, and my brother-in-law having to present for inspection to everyone over the age of two, the head of an eight point buck he took down that morning. The other brother-in-law hosting the shindig had someone drive by and shoot at his house at 2:30 that morning, probably paid off by his ex-wife. Then he had to show us all nude cell phone pics of his new girlfriend, who's a year younger than his eldest daughter and has a tattoo down her entire back. That's only two minutes of an hour-long highlight reel, too.

This is Alabama. Insert your own 'Deliverance' jokes here. Then multiply by a factor of five.
