They are not using the term “flashmob” the way it is normally used.

Actually, I think some of the “original” flash mob activities were just of this nature.

The term has since been co-opted by groups of people doing less desirable activities.

Yes, I opened it and enjoyed it. I’m aware of the other usage. I prefer this one.
