In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".

to steal or take dishonestly (money, especially public funds, or property entrusted to one's care); embezzle.

Here a couple of candidates for future words of the day: fard and chit.

They both come from the same source, Rush Limbaugh. Years ago, fard caused the phones at WLS 890 Chicago to light up with complaints. And, this afternoon, chit exposed the ignorance of Rush's production staff when he used it in connection with Chelsea's new MSM gig. Amazingly, two of his staff did not know the word!

I am pretty sure all the words have been used and we are just reusing them. LOL Some days, if they sound familiar, I google word for the day free republic and the word I am thinking of using. I get lots of hits that way and reject the word if it was already used in the last year.

I keep a list of words I have used and put the word in my titles so they are easy to find.

Mine just finished up as well - sold back his books and is crashed in his room for a well deserved nap..... texted me earlier he got a 96 on one of his finals. He worked hard this semester!

That is funny...... just opened up a card from President and Mrs. Bush - it is a beautiful 8x10 color photo of them on the ranch - I asked for it to be framed and hung in the study! Of course many folks got this but this one says:

To Mrs. WhyisaTexasgirlinPA With best wishes, ... lol

What did you think of the Boardwalk Empire finale? I had two impressions:

One, that the writers seem to have suddenly realized they needed to end this season and put everything into fast forward.

Two, that maybe Nucky isn’t such a good guy underneath it all.
